What’s OQP – Open Quantum Problems?

Do you feel that there are fundamental questions in quantum information theory which are not receiving enough attention? Is there a technical difficulty that you encounter over and over in the course of your research?

Those are not your problems only: they are our problems, too. Share them with the community and help quantum information science grow!

From 2017, the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) in Vienna together with Reinhard F. Werner and a team of researchers will take care of his list of Open Problems in Quantum Information.

Until its cessation in 2006, this list not only provided an accurate picture of research in quantum information theory, but also helped shape its course. Now that most of the problems in the list are closed, we feel that it is time to revive it. Under the supervision of Prof. Reinhard Werner, our team of voluntary administrators will add new questions to the new list of open problems and update the status of each problem until its successful resolution.

If you wish to submit a new problem to the list, check the guidelines and use the form on the contact page. Please also contact us if you believe that one of the open problems has been solved or that its current status, as it appears in this page, does not reflect a significant advance.
